Welcome back to the One Room Challenge, Week 2.
If you are coming from Calling It Home, I'm so glad you are here!
If you missed Week 1, go HERE.
Before we get to the nitty gritty, I thought you would like a pretty inspirational photo to get a taste of where I am headed.
(Pinterest - if you know the source please let me know!)
Here is where we started:
I painted the vanity to match the mirror.
Before installation of the marble, I added heavier gilding to highlight some of the characteristics of the vanity.
I was so excited to get the marble installed!!! I took out the sink and cleared the way...
Upon cutting the hole for the sink, the installers broke the marble in half! Insert very sad and disappointed face here.
I mean, seriously?!
They are going to have to fix it because there is absolutely no more of this marble left.
They mixed, painted, and filled until it almost disappeared, but not quite.
So this is where I leave you this week. The fabricator has a tiny piece of marble leftover. He is making me a backsplash to hide the crack behind the faucet.
The sink already looks better. I can't wait to get rid of the red paper, and the mirror, and the light fixture!!
Oh and I started peeling wallpaper. IT ISN'T PRETTY, Y'all. I'll leave that for next weeks update.
Here are my plans:
paint vanityadd custom marble top- remove weird trim and fill in holes that I will surely make
take down valance- paint trim
- remove wallpaper
- float walls
- paint walls or hang wallpaper (haven't decided yet)
- remove vent/fan
- remove/replace light fixture with chandelier
- rewire chandelier
- add sconces
- fluff and add any last minute details
- 2' x 6' rug (approx)
- handtowels
- toilet paper holder
- towel holder
- mirror

ReplyDeleteI was so excited reading about the amazing progress you were making and nearly had a heart attack seeing the broken marble! What is it with installers these days?! We recently had our kitchen sink broken by the installers – had to wait three additional weeks (without a kitchen) until they ordered a new one... I hope next week is super productive for you and without any crazy surprises!
ReplyDeleteXO, Oksana
Oh no! At least they are fixing it. Hopefully, that will be the only issue you have along the way. Can't wait for next week!
