One Room Challenge, Powder Bath, Week 4

Welcome back to the One Room Challenge, Week FOUR!

 FUN event!  It really is fun! It's just a teeny bit stressful working under a deadline!  I am the world's biggest procrastinator.  So we shall see if I can get this project finished in time.

Last time we chatted, I left you with a busted budget...

There is absolutely no room left in the budget for wallpaper or a hand printed mural, so I decided I would attempt to paint it myself. After all, I painted this...

so how hard could it possibly be?  

Ask me in two weeks.  I am in the sketching phase now.  Oi!

Last week I mentioned I was going to use a chandelier in the powder bath, so I drug this gorgeous chandelier out of my storage stash and rewired it.  I've had this little baby in storage for 10 years.   Waiting for the perfect project.  Rewiring is simple, I purchased this and had it done in minutes.

And finally today!  The chandelier is hung and the walls are painted and ready for me to draw on!  

I also purchased this mirror off craigslist and I'm excited to show it all installed!!!!

Because my rug is such an odd shape, I went to my local rug and carpet store (with my four boys over fall break) that carries seagrass by the roll.  And by the roll, I mean my boys played hide and go seek in and out of the hundreds of rolls. :) I ordered a rug that is 25" by 6' 6" and had it bound.  It should be ready this week.  If you are looking for an odd shape rug, this really is the way to go.  I found a remnant of their seagrass in the remnant room that was a little larger than I needed.  They cut it down for me and because I was binding a remnant, it was 50% off for the binding. 

I found some cute vintage bathroom accessories on ebay today!  I am excited to see them when they arrive (fingers crossed before reveal day).  These are going to be even better than what I thought I wanted.

I am working with the cutest company, Hempstead Thread, for my guest hand towels.  I can't wait to show them to you!

Let's review my plans:

• paint vanity
• add custom marble top
• remove weird trim and fill in holes that I will surely make
• take down valance
• paint trim
• remove wallpaper
• float walls
• paint walls 
• remove vent/fan
• add sconces
• rewire chandelier that's been in a box in my cabana
• replace light fixture
• hang mirror
• backsplash
• wall treatment
• fluff and add any last minute details

Shopping for:

• 2' x 7' rug (approx)
• handtowels
• toilet paper holder
• towel holder
• mirror
